First Day
of the 4 Days of Reflection
During these four days, you'll reflect on 2025, starting today on the Winter Solstice, December 21. Today you start by reflecting on the months of January, February and March of 2025 and start writing it down in your journal and/or make a collage in your journal.

I specifically call this "days," not nights. These reflective days have a different energy; it feels like everything comes to a standing still for a moment; the days are short.

Take good care of yourself on your first day:

  • Schedule some time during the day to spend in silence.
  • Light a candle.
  • Wrap a soft, warm blanket around you.
  • Make yourself a nice cup of tea.

Use tools like the photos on your phone or your calendar to briefly revisit those three months of 2025 and write down:

  • What did you do? What was good? What was less enjoyable?
  • What are you grateful for?
  • What brings a smile to your face, and what brings a tear to your eye?
  • Can you revisit those moments? Do images, smells, words, or colors come to mind? Write them down or draw them.
  • What will you take with you into 2026, and what will you leave behind in 2025?
  • On a separate sheet of paper, write down what you want to let go of from these months. Then burn this sheet and give it to the fire. Look into the fire until the sheet is burned, and consciously say goodbye to what no longer serves you and be grateful for what was.
